My shelter pet’s name is Ting.
He is cute, adventurous, and chill.
We got him in Saint Kitts from a shelter named Paws at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.
He is a mutt mixed in with a lot of different breeds.
Ting did not have a name when we got him, but we gave him a special name, named after a fruity drink in Saint Kitts.
Here is how we got him.
We went to a restaurant in Saint Kitts with lots of rescue dogs.
My mom dropped us off to get a table while she went to go park the car.
When my mom walked in, she saw us running up to her with another dog.
At the time, we had two dogs.
Mom immediately said no!
Once she looked at that special little pot cake she said yes!
Something very special about Ting is his behavior.
We hold him upside down like a baby and he loves it!
Ting has done many silly things, but a very silly thing he used to do is find bones or things around the house and bury them in the backyard.
Ting will escape if we let him go.
That’s why we have to make sure that he doesn’t get out of the house.
One time, he ran out the back gate, crossed the street, then went out to the beach.
People were about to take him when they realized that there was a phone number on the collar.
They called my mom and returned him home.
The reason we rescue is because we want to help animals in need instead of buying an animal that is already healthy and safe with someone.
I hope you enjoyed this dog rescue story of Ting.
I also hope that you can have your own dog rescue story and give a shelter pet a home!
